the favorite book project, Jingdezhen (Ch) 2024

For the favorite book project I asked the members of a reading group in Jingdezhen (Ch), about their favorite book.

Each person was asked to remember a book that was emotionally moving to them, or even had an impact on their lives. 22 people decided to take part in the project.

I produced the chosen books in porcelain and painted and glazed the book-objects.

In addition to the project I produced two booklets, one in English and one in Chinese Language. The booklets inform about the name and age of the participants and the reason why they have chosen the respective book.

Favorite Book Projekt Berlin, 2024 ongoing

The Favorite Book Project Berlin is the follow-up project to the Jingdezhen-Project, which I started in Berlin in 2024.

It includes books that interviewees described as important or moving. It also includes a series of endangered books that are considered banned in various parts of the world.

Das Favorite Book Projekt Berlin ist das Folgeprojekt nach Jingdezhen, das ich 2024 in Berlin begonnen habe.

Es umfasst Bücher, die befragte Personen als wichtig oder bewegend bezeichnet haben. Ausserdem eine Reihe gefährdeter Bücher die in verschiedenen Weltteilen als verboten gelten.
