An exhibition, and musical project, about the work- and social structure in the two cities

The Project presents a research-based series of portraits of people living in the two cities, typified by a representative cross-section of the population. On the basis of a statistical evaluation, reflecting the work- and social situation of the inhabitants, 50 People of each city will be asked to take part in the Project and will then be portrayed by the artists. In preparation for this, social statistics produced by project -involved sociologists, will provide the parameters used to find the city- representatives in proportion to the population. Portraits of each 50 people will be created in various media in cooperation of German an Hungarian artists and composers. The form of the portraits will be architectural installations, graphical representations and musical recitals.

The graphical portraits contain the name of the representative, photograph(s) of the person, a description of their life and social situation, and a protocol of the daily routine of the person. Two traversable platforms will be part of the exhibition, representing each city's social statistics with colorfully set-off and identified areas, that correspond proportionally to the sizes of population groups'. Two composers one from Berlin, one from Budapest will create scores, based on the protocols of people daily routines. It will be a structure built of time periods, which reflect the rhythm and duration of individual actions, recorded in the day-protocols of the portraits. The musical pieces will be performed by German and Hungarian musicians in both cities.
